कहानी के भाग 3 में, तेज़ गर्मी और आसन्न बारिश के बावजूद अपने घोंसले की मरम्मत के लिए माँ रानी चिड़िया की चेतावनियों को लगातार नज़रअंदाज़ करने के बाद सोनू और मोनू की नींद खुल जाती है। जब एक भयंकर तूफ़ान आता है और उनका असुरक्षित घोंसला नष्ट हो जाता है, तो उन्हें एहसास होता है कि उनकी माँ सही थीं। बेघर और ठंड से कांपते हुए, वे मदद के लिए अपनी पड़ोसी, दयालु मिट्ठू मौसी के पास पहुंचते हैं, जो उन्हें आश्रय और गर्म सूप देती हैं।
इस संकटपूर्ण रात में, सोनू और मोनू को अपनी लापरवाही का पछतावा होता है। वे अपनी माँ से माफ़ी मांगते हैं और वादा करते हैं कि वे भविष्य में आलस छोड़ देंगे और ज़िम्मेदार बनेंगे। दो दिन बाद, जब बारिश रुकती है और मौसम साफ होता है, तो वे अपना वादा निभाते हैं, खाने-पीने की व्यवस्था करने में अपनी माँ की मदद करते हैं, और एक अच्छा, ज़िम्मेदार जीवन शुरू करते हैं
