Because of Goddess Lakshmiโs curse, Lord Jagannath and Balram lost all their food and treasure.
Wherever they begged for alms, the food in that house would mysteriously vanishโso people stopped offering them anything. For 12 long years, the divine brothers wandered hungry from door to door.
